Registering for the GRE

To create an account on the ETS website, you will need to first register on the MyGRE page and enter your details such as name, address, etc. You will then need to create a username and password for your account. The account you create on the GRE Portal has several other uses in addition to registering for the exam. Some of them include — signing up for free GRE Search Service, viewing your scores, ordering additional score reports, viewing, changing, or cancelling your registration, etc.

Now that you have created your ETS account, the next step will be to select your test format — either computer-based or a paper format. You should select the one that is most suitable for your requirements. Next, choose your test dates. You should select the dates taking into account the amount of time you will require to prepare for the exam and also the deadlines for admissions at the universities you are applying to. Once you finalise on the dates, you should choose a test centre that is closest to you. Finally, double-check your name that you have registered. The name must match the one on your identification document which you have mentioned while registering. Now you can go ahead and make the payment on the final payment gateway. The GRE registration fee is US $213 in India, which is approximately INR 15,800.
